What Climate Change Could Mean for International Migration

Session Title: “What Climate Change Could Mean for International Migration”

Date and Time: Thursday, 6th of October 2022 at 8:00 PM CEST.

Platform:  StreamYard, Live streamed on Youtube and Twitter

The world is subjected to more and more droughts recently. Rivers are drying up, sea levels are rising, glaciers are melting, and oceans are warming. Climate change and global warming are a threat not just to humans but the wildlife and sea creatures. In addition, recent wars and mutual embargoes are changing the usual ways of energy transfer and global food trade. In the near future, “Climate migrants” are expected as a result of climate change.

Discussion points of the session:

  • What factors are responsible for climate change?
  • Who are climate refugees?
  • Has the great climate migration begun?
  • How does international food trade affect climate change?
  • How the Russian-Ukrainian war affects the total environment and climate change?
  • How can we tackle the climate refugee crises?
